Fontbonne International Festival benefits Medicines for Humanity

The Fontbonne auditorium was filled last Sunday, January 30th with folks who came out on a cold day to be warmed by the songs, dances, and costumes that came from around the world and made up The Fontbonne Academy International Festival. The photo to the left captures Fontbonne juniors and identical twins, Yunan Xue & Yutong Xue, performing a Chinese opera dance duet.

The event benefited Medicines for Humanity, an organization located in Rockland, MA whose goal is to reduce child mortality rates in impoverished communities around the world. Tim Bilodeau, Executive Director of Medicines for Humanity, addressed the audience at the festival and thanked them for their support. The event raised over $600 for the organization. “We are really proud of our students and families for their generous donations, and grateful for the opportunity to help others through Medicines for Humanity,” said Mrs. Anke Herbert, Fontbonne Academy’s World Languages Chairperson.
