Nationwide Democrats had a tough time of it but here in Milton the center held. Milton voted the democratic ticket and voted “No” on all three ballot questions (Question 1 did pass at the state level).
Milton saw a town wide voter turnout of 72% with Precinct 9 having the highest turnout (77%) and Precinct 1 the lowest (67%).
Here are some data points on how Milton voted in yesterday’s election based on results from the Town Clerks Office.
- There are not a lot of Republicans in Milton. Milton voters are either Democrats or Independents. Of the 17,853 registered voters in Milton 47% are Democrats and 45% are Independents. Republicans make up only 9%. The majority of registered Republicans are in Precinct 9 (16%).
- 54% of registered voters went for Duval Patrick vs 37% for Charlie Baker. State Senator Joyce received 67% of the vote to Mr. Burr’s 33%
- Joyce won every precinct. Governor Patrick lost Precinct 9 by 54 votes (612 to 558) and narrowly won precinct 10.
- Precincts 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 all voted in favor of Question 1 but it was not enough to pass it. Regarding the other two questions: they were defeated in every precinct.
