For the second straight year the Southeast Region won the gold medal in The Bay State Games soccer tournament held this past weekend at Waltham High School.
Milton was well represented. Ryan Madden and Nick Savage both from Milton High School were key in the team’s success. The team played a tough, talented Metro team on Saturday and again on Sunday to win the gold. The Metro team, packed with talent from the Revolution Academy and Bolts Academy teams were very tough; but the Southeast boys were up to the challenge and worked incredibly hard earning a 1-0 win in the first game and a second win that came down to a PK shootout. Ryan Madden led the boys in scoring over the weekend with 3 goals including his PK in the final. Nick Savage played solid defense in the back especially on Sunday against the Metro’s high-powered strikers.
But wait there’s more! The Southeast Region team was once again coached by Milton High School Soccer staff, Mike Madden, Jeff Camara and Paul Pinhiero. These coaches have led the team to back to back championships. The team played great all weekend posting a 5-1 record, scoring 12 goals and only allowing 3.
Congratulations to our Milton High players, coaches and the rest of the Southeast team for their back to back championships!
