Curry College officer fired following arrest

A rookie Curry College campus police officer has been fired after he allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and pointed a gun at her.  (Read the full story here.)

Music Festival Board Seeks New Members

Milton Performing Arts, the parent organization of the Milton Young Musicians Festival and the Milton Elementary Musicians Festival, extends an open invitation to all who might be interested in supporting these two annual events. Musicianship is not mandatory, nor is a child in the school music program.

DPW work on library parking and entrance postponed

Please note that the DPW has reschedule the work on the library entrance and exit and the striping of the roadway for next week. The work is being done to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety at the library. You can find a letter from the library director here.

Andrew Smith to Present EP Release Concert at Riverside Theatre Works

To celebrate the release of his first EP of original music, Andrew Smith will present a release concert at Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park, Friday and Saturday evenings, October 25 and 26 at 8:00 p.m. The evening will be filled with popular jazz songs, standards, songs from his EP and much more. Pulling from major influences such as Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder, Andrew and his nine-piece are sure to provide an extraordinary evening of music.

2nd Annual Pedal Poker River Run

This Saturday’s forecast is for party sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60’s.  Perfect weather for a walk, run or ride along the Neponset River trail.

Four local organizations are teaming up for the second annual Pedal Poker River Run on Saturday, October 19th where participants walk or run (5K) or bike (17.5 miles) and have a chance to win some great prizes

Today, MPD obtained a tip email from a person from outside Massachusetts that received a distressing call from “617-291-9347.”

The caller told the person that her brother had been in a serious car accident.

Autumn is an 8 year old spayed female domestic shorthair. She was left outside the Milton Animal shelter. Autumn is a gentle cat with a distinctive beauty – photos don’t do her justice.
