This Saturday’s forecast is for party sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60’s. Perfect weather for a walk, run or ride along the Neponset River trail.
Four local organizations are teaming up for the second annual Pedal Poker River Run on Saturday, October 19th where participants walk or run (5K) or bike (17.5 miles) and have a chance to win some great prizes (an iPad, $400 gift card at Ashmont Cycles; 6 month membership at Milton Hill Sport & Spa) by drawing playing cards along the way.
Pedal Poker River Run starts at 2PM at Pope John Paul Park in Dorchester (Hallet Street entrance) for walkers and runners and 1PMfor the extended bike ride which goes to Brookwood Community Farm and back.
It is sponsored by Mortgage Master, SBLI, Blue Hills Bank, and Vargas & Vargas Insurance and benefits Milton’s Brookwood Community Farm, Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition, Boston Natural Areas Network and the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance.
Registration is free at www.pedalpokerriverrun.com and participants are asked to raise at least $25 to benefit one or more of the non-profit organizations.
