Fall Town Meeting could get spooky this evening, especially when articles 12 &13 come up. They concern the town-owned portion of the Hendries property — that eerie parking lot that sits vacant and dark. What is spooky about these articles? Well, the town might make progress with a plan for moving forward. There’s a scary thought.

Ben Richman of Milton and MHS graduate of class of 2011 was crowned the Homecoming King for the University of Massachusetts where he is in his junior year. According to the UMass web site, “the Homecoming King, Queen, and Court represent UMass Amherst with honor, integrity and ample school spirit.

It was a great day for a run — and a lot of Monsters did!

Tom Shaw of Boston (and a MHS Physics teacher) took first place in the men’s division of today’s Monster Dash. Candy Angle of Weymouth was the first women’s finisher on a day that turned sunny with a perfect temperature for running.

Cheeleaders ‘Cans for Cats’

The next Milton High School Boosters “Cans for Cats” can & bottle recycling drive will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Milton High School. The cheerleaders will be at the front entrance of the high school, 25 Gile Road, to collect your 5 cent cans and bottles to redeem them for cash. All funds earned will support their program. Please stop by and support your Wildcats with your can donations. Go Wildcats!

1,500 turn out for Chamber of Commerce event in Milton

Art center rent may increase

The Milton Art Center may face difficult financial times with a looming increase in the rent it pays for a town-owned building. According to Joan Clifford, executive director of the center, the rent has been at $500 a month for the last two years, thanks in part to nearly $20,000 the center spent on renovations.
