He’s back . . . maybe. The school committee in a 3-1-2 vote approved former school committee member Glenn Pavlicek as the next Assistant Superintendent of Business for the Milton Public Schools. The appointment, which was the recommendation of Superintendent Mary Gormley, is contingent on Pavlicek being cleared for take off by Ethics Commission and successful contract negotiations.

Jack Murray, a resident of Milton, was appointed to be Commissioner of the DCR by Rick Sullivan, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs yesterday. He follows in the footsteps of Ed Lambert who is leaving the Patrick Administration to be the Vice Chancellor of Government Relations and Public Affairs at UMass.

The rain began to fall lightly as the runners left the starting line at yesterday’s running of Milton’s largest road race organized by The Milton Junior Womans Club. And then it began to rain harder . . . and harder, until runners were hurdling puddles and running through streams created by the runoff from the downpour. But they didn’t care. They just ran.

I wanted to let you know that the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) proposed flight path changes for Runway 33L of Logan Airport have gone into effect. However, to address the concerns raised by my constituents, the FAA has implemented an unprecedented six month review period regarding the flight path changes.
All Milton residents are urged to attend an important town-wide meeting to discuss recent updates about flight paths over Milton and the proposed additional flight path on Thursday, June 13th at 7 pm in the Blute Meeting Room in Town Hall. The meeting was planned by concerned Milton residents who organized to address the issues of Logan air traffic over our town.
