Mr. Worrell has been found

SINCERE THANKS to the residents of the Columbine/Cliffs /Fairfax neighborhoods today. For the family of Mr. Worrell managing his care each day must be challenging, requiring a great deal of love and support. Late this morning, one could only imagine their fear when this elderly gentlemen slipped away from his home unnoticed. 

Governor signs supplemental 2013 budget; includes $300K for Milton

Late last week the Governor signed two budget bills. Both will impact Milton. The first was the fiscal year 2013 supplemental budget of $125 million. In a communication with town officials Senator Brian A. Joyce confirmed that the supplemental budget includes $300,000 in funds to help offset the medical costs associated with supporting the care of injured Milton fireman Antonio Pickens.

Obituary: Kathryn A. (Sloan) McCourt

Daughter of William N. Sloan and Armande C. Lalonde Sloan, she graduated from Potsdam High School in 1989. She was united in marriage to Sean P. McCourt on July 3, 2004 at St. Mary’s church in Charlestown, MA.

Milling and paving to start on Morton St. on Sunday

Here is a head’s up if you take Morton Street over to JP or as your route into town.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will commence milling and paving operations on Morton Street/Route 203 this Sunday night, July 14. Work is expected to last up to four weeks, and will take place during overnight hours. (Read the full story here.)

Gov. Patrick vetoes key transportation, local aid money in state budget

Try vadering, hadokening, or do a bookface (or a series!) Come with friends and put them inside your phone, and do it all with snacks on the side.

Rep. Walter Timilty Hosts Office Hours at Town Hall

Representative Walter Timilty (D – Milton) invites Milton residents to meet with him during his local office hours on Tuesday, July 23rd. They will be held in the Baker Conference Room of the Milton Town Hall from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. No appointments are required.

Canoeing the Neponset River offers a respite from the fast-paced life

There are at least two convenient points for Milton residents to launch canoes and kayaks: at the launch at the Milton Yacht Cub and there is a spot to put in behind the Hatch shell in Hyde Park on Truman Parkway.
