William Martin, author of The Lincoln Letter, to speak at MPL

What if Lincoln kept a diary during the Civil War? Historical suspense makes for an exciting page-turner in The Lincoln Letter. Popular author William Martin will talk about his new book on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 from 7 to 8 pm. in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the Milton Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton.

Don’t forget – South Pacific on stage at Milton High!

The Oscar & Hammerstein musical sensation South Pacific will be performed at Milton High School. This ever popular musical won 10 Tony Awards and features songs such as “Bali Ha’i”, “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair”, “Some Enchanted Evening”, “There Is Nothing Like a Dame.”

Winter Valley Emporium today

The Winter Valley Resident Council is holding at Emporium todya, Saturday Oct 19, from 10 am to 2 pm. It is in KNowlton Hall at 600 Canton Ave, Milton and will feature white Elephant, Bake items, crafts, raffles, paintings, vintage pieces, and hand knit originals.

Andrew Smith to Present EP Release Concert at Riverside Theatre Works

To celebrate the release of his first EP of original music, Andrew Smith will present a release concert at Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park, Friday and Saturday evenings, October 25 and 26 at 8:00 p.m. The evening will be filled with popular jazz songs, standards, songs from his EP and much more. Pulling from major influences such as Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder, Andrew and his nine-piece are sure to provide an extraordinary evening of music.

2nd Annual Pedal Poker River Run

This Saturday’s forecast is for party sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60’s.  Perfect weather for a walk, run or ride along the Neponset River trail.

Four local organizations are teaming up for the second annual Pedal Poker River Run on Saturday, October 19th where participants walk or run (5K) or bike (17.5 miles) and have a chance to win some great prizes

Sunset Hike to the Top of Big Blue

What could be more spectacular than fall foliage? Sunset from atop Great Blue! Enjoy the season’s finest colors this fall from the region’s highest hill.

On Sunday, October 20 from 4:00 – 7:00, Blue Hill Ski, the Friends of the Blue Hills, and Blue Hills Observatory will be sponsoring a free hike to the top of Great Blue.

Family Fairy Festival at the Wakefield Estate

There will be a FAMILY FAIRY FESTIVAL at the Wakefield Estate (1465 Brush Hill Rd, Milton) on Saturday October 19th 1PM-4PM brought to you by Artspace Milton and the the Mary MB Wakefield Charitable Trust

The woods are full of fairies! Come join us and build a home for a fairy or elf on the grounds of our beautiful estate. Participate in Nature Art activities.

Oktoberfest Fundraiser for Milton Crew

The Friends of Milton Crew are hosting their annual Oktoberfest fundraiser on Friday, October 11 from 7-11 pm at First Parish, 535 Canton Ave, Milton

There will be hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, raffle, & silent auction. Admission is $25 and tickets are available at the door.

Milton Crew is also hosting the South Shore Invitational Regatta. It takes place Saturday at 3:00pm on the Neponset. Hingham and Quincy will compete along with boats from Milton. Great viewing is available at Pope John Paul Park.
