On Friday, May 10 at 3 p.m., the Teen Services Department of the Milton Library will show a movie for students in grades 6-12. Teens will have a choice of four summer-themed movies; they can see the options and vote for their top choices on our Teen Space Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MiltonLibraryTeenSpace)!

Teen Creative Writing Workshop with Kathryn Burak
On Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m., the Milton Public Library will host a creative writing workshop led by Kathryn Burak for local teens. Ms. Burak is a Milton resident, a teacher at Boston University, the poetry editor at YARN (yareview.net), and the author of the Edgar Award-nominated young adult novel Emily’s Dress and Other Missing Things.
How the humble potato changed the world
On Wednesday, May 8th, historian Dan Breen will share an entertaining talk about the humble potato’s role in historic events at 7 pm in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton. When the Spanish conquerors arrived in the New World, they tended to turn up their noses at a crop they had never seen before: the humble potato.

To help celebrate Earth Day 2013, Sustainable Milton and Artspace Milton are collaborating to produce an event, The Recycle Art Challenge! Dig into your recycling bin and create a unique piece of art. Let your imagination go wild! Students are encouraged to create works of art using recycled materials. bring your work to our Earth Day Celebration at Turner’s Pond on Sunday April 21, 1:00 Pm. Prizes will be awarded for creativity!
East Congregational Church to host 3rd Annual Drum Circle
The East Congregational Church announces its Third Annual Drum Circle. This event will be led by members of HandReach, an organization which for 10 years has focussed on providing trauma therapy to children in the U.S. and abroad, particularly amputees and severe burn victims. Having witnessed the healing power of drumming in their therapy sessions, HandReach formed a team focussed on drumming, called the Beat Brigade.
Sewstainability: Crafting with Repurposed Fabrics
On Saturday, May 4, 2013, Susan Clare will discuss and demonstrate crafting with repurposed fabrics at 2 PM in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the Milton Public Library, located at 476 Canton Avenue in Milton. This workshop called “Sewstainability” will highlight saving money, supporting sustainability, and making attractive and useful fabric items for personal use and as gifts.
The Fuller Village White Elephant and Craft Fair is Coming!
The Fair will be held on Saturday, April 27th in the Function Room at 1372 Brush Hill Rd from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Visit the White Elephant Tables and find household goods, decorative items, boutique furnishings and other treasures. At the Knitters Table you will find knit children’s clothing, baby afghans, spring décor and doll outfits.
