The History of Howard Johnson’s: A Talk by Anthony Sammarco

Historian Anthony M. Sammarco will share an illustrated lecture and autograph his new book, The History of Howard Johnson’s: How A Soda Fountain Became a Roadside Icon. What if Lincoln kept a diary during the Civil War? Historical suspense makes for an exciting page-turner in The Lincoln Letter. Popular author William Martin will talk about his new book on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 from 7 to 8 pm. in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the Milton Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton.

Andrew Smith to Present EP Release Concert at Riverside Theatre Works

To celebrate the release of his first EP of original music, Andrew Smith will present a release concert at Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park, Friday and Saturday evenings, October 25 and 26 at 8:00 p.m. The evening will be filled with popular jazz songs, standards, songs from his EP and much more. Pulling from major influences such as Billy Joel and Stevie Wonder, Andrew and his nine-piece are sure to provide an extraordinary evening of music.

“Piano Celebration” at the Milton Public Library

The Milton Public Library will host local musicians in a free concert called “Piano Celebration” on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 2 PM. Since the library recently acquired a lovely Sohmer piano made possible by the Milton Library Foundation, several wonderful local performers will gather to help christen the new addition.

Milton Reads invites you to join them for a fun afternoon and to celebrate the closing chapter to this year’s program with food, fun, and prizes!

Films, book chats, a Gardner Museum tour, a visit by the lead investigator, and even an evening of trivia, were all part of the Milton Reads 2013 program, when Milton’s readers joined together to read The Gardner Heist, by Ulrich Boser.
