Milton store says water prices were fair

An owner of the Metrakas Deli and Market in Milton says the neighborhood store dispatched trucks to New Hampshire to bring back bottled water to keep it available for customers during the “boil water” emergency in greater Boston area, and was not overcharging consumers. Update: MWRA Boil water order

Here is a quick synopsis of the status of the water main break as of this morning:

  • the boil water order is still in effect
  • the pipe has been repaired and is being pressure tested. Water pressure is stable.
  • most affected communities supplied coliform samples yesterday and will supply another set today.

New traffic restrictions for Neponset Bridge announced

The state Department of Transportation has announced lane reductions for the week ahead at the Neponset River Bridge, where a multi-year repair project is under way.

Monday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – the two left-hand southbound lanes will be closed. From 3:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Tuesday – the southbound right lane will be closed. (Read the full story here.)

About a year ago the Milton police were called to the scene of a domestic disturbance that was nothing short of volcanic. The response of the police was ample testament to their valor.
