Every year as the election results are tallied, candidates appear at town Hall and say a few words to Bernie Lynch, host of Milton Speaks, and his panel of local political savants including Mary McNamara, Marvin Gordon, Joe McEttrick, John Shields, and Beirne Lovely.
Here are some of the comments made last Tuesday:
“I took some tough positions this year – some which were not terribly popular. I also think I would not have done anything differently. . . I was elected to give my opinion and I did that for the past three years.” — Kathy Fagan
“We wish Mr. Sweeney the best . . .and good luck Gert.” — Martin Bauer, Fagan’s husband and campaign aide. Gert is Mr. Sweeney’s wife.

“We are not moving to Montana anytime soon. We love Milton.” — Kathy Fagan

“I worked as hard as I could for as long as i could . . . the support behind me was a wave.” — Bob Sweeney
“I think that Milton has definitely had its changes and I think that the people supporting my candidacy want to see if the top of Milton government could have a correction course . . . I’d say more towards the moderate middle. “ — Bob Sweeney
“I spent 6 years on Milton School Committee with Bob. From all my experience on I think the town will see that he is not only constructive, but he gives 110% effort to the job.” — Marvin Gordon, past School Committee member and member of Board of Selectmen
