Jubinville running again for Governor’s Council

Milton lawyer Robert L. Jubinville has announced he is running again in the Democratic primary for the District 2 seat on the Governor’s Council, and he challenged the incumbent to debate him. (Read the full stoy here.)

Mac D’Alessandro makes it official, will challenge Lynch for Congressional seat

Today (05.05.10) Mac D’Alessandro of Milton announced he is in the running for U.S. Congress from Massachusetts’ 9th district.

Mr. D’Allessandro has collected 5,000 signatures from registered Democrats and unenrolled voters in the two weeks leading up to yesterday’s May 4 deadline for submitting signatures to city and town clerks’ offices. That gives him a very comfortable cushion.

Burr dives headfirst into state senate campaign

Less than eight months after becoming the first Republican to join the race for Ted Kennedy’s U.S. Senate seat, Canton Selectman Bob Burr is at it again — this time as a candidate for state senate in the Norfolk, Bristol and Plymouth District, where Milton Democrat Brian Joyce is seeking his eighth consecutive term. Annual Town Meeting 2010: Day 2 – The wind turbine & eminent domain

Milton wants to build a wind turbine and last night Town Meeting approved article 44 which allows the Board of Selectmen to use eminent domain to acquire access to the town land where the turbine is to be constructed. The principal issue is use of the access road which leads from Randolph Avenue to the construction site. Quarry Hills, owners of the Granite Links golf course, have chained it off to town officials and employees. Quarry Hills has signaled their intent to oppose the construction.

Boil Order Order Lifted – precautions required

The MWRA has lifted their boil water order. However, you need to take the following precautions before using water for drinking etc.

  • Cold Water Faucets: Run tap water until the water feels cold, 1 minute or more, before drinking, tooth brushing, or using for food preparation.
