Invasive Weed Takes Over Mass. Yards
There is a weed folks in Milton should be aware of. It is called mile-a-minute weed because it can grow 6 inches in a day. The story from WBZ includes pictures and a video. It has shown up on the cape, in Littleton, Milton, and Canton. Canton is experiencing the worst problem.

Meeting notes: Selectmen 07.19.10 – citizens voice concerns, urge action on issues
The most interesting agenda item at last night’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting was arguably Citizens Speak. Residents voiced concerns on three issues and urged the Selectmen to act.
Steve Freedman of Gulliver Street argued that the Selectmen should move forward on designating the Stoughton Land known as the Town Farm as historic.
Town Hall grapples with Open Meeting Law
On July 1 enforcement of the Open Meeting Law was centralized under the Attorney General’s Office.
It was a topic at last night’s Board of Selectman’s meeting. The law “supports the principle that the democratic process depends on the public having knowledge about the considerations underlying governmental action.
Milton teachers participate in campaign to establish statewide sustainability curriculum
Six Milton teachers, five from Milton Academy and Pierce Middle School’s Jeff Stoodt, are participating in a week-long grant funded initiative to create a sustainability curriculum at the Summer Institute for Sustainability Education.
Dedham Police: Man grabbed phone from woman’s hand

Milton tops Norwood 12-9 in game 2 – takes the series
Milton prevailed over Norwood in American Legion District 6 tournament play yesterday evening in a game that was a scoring reversal from the first game of the series. The bats that had been largely silent in game 1 (Milton won 2-1) came to life in a game that went into extra innings and had its share of odd calls and strange plays.
East Milton Sq Parking & Access Study now available online
Howard/Stein-Hudson has launched an online resource to inform residents about the Eat Milton Square Parking and Access Study. Their goal is to “Improve parking and access in East Milton Square, determine if the Honorable Joseph M. Manning Community Park can be improved, foster the conditions for long-term business growth.”
