Saturday, Oct. 23 is national “Make a Difference Day”—dedicated to helping others. The American Red Cross and the Milton Women’s Club will be honoring the day with a blood drive on Thursday, Oct. 14 from 12:30 to 6 p.m. at the Women’s Club, 90 Reedsdale Rd.
Enjoy a presentation by Milton resident & host of HGTV’s “Destination Design” at the Milton Public Library. Taniya is also a frequent host of HGTV’s “Designed to Sell”, has appeared on Oprah and been featured in PEOPLE magazine (8/2/10).

The Forbes House Museum is seeking energetic college undergraduate and graduate students for participation in a new Internship Program. Interns are needed in the areas of museum education, collections, marketing and social media, and development.
To exercise your voice in this Novermber’s election (11/2) you need to be registered vote. The deadline is this coming Wednesday, October 13th. There are a number of important offices (Governor, Attorney General, and more) and issues (Repeal of housing law, Liquor sales tax, and more) to be decided.

The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Milton became part of a growing trend in religious services: pet blessings. The congregation invited members to bring their pets Sunday to be individually blessed by the Rev. Parisa Parsa. Other South Shore churches have held similar blessings. Brian Kelley, host of Talk of the Town a local cable program that features fascinating people, places, and projects with a local focus has a new show that is especially noteworthy. It profiles a project that has been underway for some time at Fuller Village, a senior residetial living complex in soutwestern Milton. The project, called We Remember When, is a collection of memoirs from the residents there. Mr. Kelley interviews people involved with the project.
