Blue HIlls Bank among fastest growing in Massachusetts for 2014

The Boston Business Journal has researched the fastest growing banks in Massachusetts. Blue Hills Bank which opened a branch in East Milton recently is near the top of the list. The BBJ reports:

Perhaps the most dramatic year belonged to Blue Hills Bank (Nasdaq:BHBK), however: The Boston institution’s deposits rose by $401.3 million, good for third overall, and by 42.8 percent from 2013’s total, the second-highest increase by percentage. The surge put Blue Hills past the $1 billion deposit threshold, to $1.3 billion.

Governor’s Opioid Addiction Working Group to Host Listening Sessions

The Governor’s Opiod Addition Working Group will be hosting session throughout the state to gather community feedback on thoughts and concerns regarding this issue. (Please click “Read more” for full statement). The session closest to Milton will be in Boston on April 2nd at time and place to be announced. This issue exists everywhere. Milton also recently formed a committee and MyTownMatters along with other media outlets has signed on with our local Health Department to provide communications support on this topic that is vital to our health and safety.

Timilty supports supplemental spending bill

State Representative Walter F. Timilty, recently, voted for an FY’15 Supplemental Spending Bill. The Fiscal Year of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts spans from July first until the following July first. For this reason, neither the executive branch, in this case the Baker-Polito Administration, nor the State Legislature are able to anticipate all contingencies; thus, the genesis of what are commonly referred to as “Supplemental Budgets”.
