Governor’s Opioid Addiction Working Group to Host Listening Sessions

The Governor’s Opiod Addition Working Group will be hosting session throughout the state to gather community feedback on thoughts and concerns regarding this issue. (Please click “Read more” for full statement). The session closest to Milton will be in Boston on April 2nd at time and place to be announced. This issue exists everywhere. Milton also recently formed a committee and MyTownMatters along with other media outlets has signed on with our local Health Department to provide communications support on this topic that is vital to our health and safety.

The working group with be conducting four listening sessions throughout the Commonwealth. This is an opportunity for the working group to gather feedback from the community and ideas on the best ways to halt this epidemic. Additionally, the working group will host a series of eight meetings, where they will engage with various stakeholders to determine what steps the government can take to address the opioid crisis. The working group plans to submit a statewide strategy to combat opioid addiction and curb overdose deaths to Governor Baker at the end of May.
