The agenda includes but is not limited to a discussion with LIbrary Trustees on tree removal, an update from Rick Neely of the Town Government Study Committee, an update from Steve Morash of Fire Space Needs committee, and an update on 0 Central Ave (Hendries). Reminder: 4th Annual Civil War Concert @ Forbes House tomorrow
The 4th annual Civil War Concert featuring the band, Dixon’s Gold, will take place on the grounds of the Forbes House Museum on Sunday, 10 August at 4pm.
Parks & Rec Notice: Curragh’s Fancy to perform on 8/27
The 8/6/14 concert that was cancelled due to rain has been re-scheduled to 8/27/14. Curragh’s Fancy has been sponsored by Walter F. Timilty to play on this date.
Milton’s Eustis Estate considered for National Register of Historic Places
The Boston Globe has published a slide show of local properties that are candidates to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. One of the eleven is the Eustis Estate here in Milton. The Register is the federal government’s list of properties deserving preservation. The estate will be preserved. It was recently purchased by Historic New England. You can find the slide show here.

MPD’s National Night Out was quite a night
The Milton Police Department held their annual National Night Out event on the headquarter grounds last night and, despite a forecast that called for possible showers, the weather could not have been better. It was an evening for families and fun.
Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton Supporters Prepare to Tee Off
Plans are well underway for the 20th Annual Tee Off Golf Tournament to benefit Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton (BID-Milton), which is taking place Monday, September 22 at Wollaston Golf Club. According to the hospital’s Special Events Chair Carol Fallon, “Under the leadership of tournament Co-chairs Ned Corcoran and Dr. Edward Reardon, we are looking forward to another hugely successful tournament.
Wayne Potash to perform at Gazebo 8/13
Wayne Potash will be performing at the Gazebo on the town green in a concert sponsored by Senator Brian Joyce on Wednesday, August 13th. The concert is part of Parks & Rec free summer concert series. The concert begins at 6:00. Senator Joyce will be in attendance with treats for the children on the Town Green.

Last week the Master Plan committee asked for community input on “Which transportation improvements do you feel are most important to make?” It was the third in a series of questions they’re asking of residents as they conclude the information gathering phase of drafting a new master plan. But to know what improvements are most important assumes one knows what improvements are available, are there any?
Film with Milton locations to debut in Toronto
The Judge, a film starring Robert Downey and Robert Duvall, will open the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 4, according to Variety. The film was partially shot here in Milton at a house on School Street.
