Plans are well underway for the 20th Annual Tee Off Golf Tournament to benefit Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Milton (BID-Milton), which is taking place Monday, September 22 at Wollaston Golf Club. According to the hospital’s Special Events Chair Carol Fallon, “Under the leadership of tournament Co-chairs Ned Corcoran and Dr. Edward Reardon, we are looking forward to another hugely successful tournament.
There is a great deal of excitement around this being our 20th year and the announcement that funds raised will go towards our Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Anyone interested in sponsoring or playing in the tournament should act quickly as the tournament typically sells out.”
Since 1995, the Tee Off Golf Tournament has been vital in raising funds to support the growing needs of the hospital. Support from physicians, local businesses, employees, volunteers, and friends of BID-Milton has enabled the hospital to continue to provide quality, compassionate health care services to the community and keep pace with new medical advancements.
Last year’s tournament raised more than $115,000. These funds were used to help offset the cost of implementing electronic medical record systems to enhance the safety and efficiency of surgical care. Electronic medical record systems are proven to reduce medical errors and eliminate waste.
This year’s tournament will raise funds for facility enhancements and new equipment for the hospital’s outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. This invaluable multidisciplinary program provides monitored physical exercise, stretching and stress management as well as vital education for individuals recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, angioplasty or angina. Over the years, Cardiac Rehabilitation has helped hundreds of local men and women lead new, heart-healthy lifestyles.
