Governor Patrick & State Senator Joyce are coming back; Q 2 & 3 defeated

Milton Democrats are breathing a sigh of relief this morning. Local incumbents Duval Patrick and State Senator Brian Joyce both retained their offices.

Of the ballot questions, only Question 1 passed. Questions 2 and 3 which would have repealed the 40B affordable housing law and rolled back state taxes to 3% were beaten back by substantial margins repeal the alcohol tax is passing where Q2 & 3 appear to be going down in defeat by substantial margins.You can find complete election results on ballot questions here.

Milton Sen. Brian A Joyce re-elected in a landslide

Democrat Brian A Joyce of Milton retained his State Senate seat on Tuesday by beating Republican Robert Burr of Canton in a landslide.

Joyce celebrated his victory at the Suffolk Grill in Canton saying “I am overjoyed to have won in what was the most challenging year for incumbents in decades.” (Read the full story here.)
