Anyone with an active interest in local Milton politics has been asking for some time: What will Marion McEttrick do? Yesterday, as reported in yesterday’s Milton Times, Ms. McEttrick answered that question. She has chosen not to seek re-election to the Board of Selectmen this spring.
The Fontbonne auditorium was filled last Sunday, January 30th with folks who came out on a cold day to be warmed by the songs, dances, and costumes that came from around the world and made up The Fontbonne Academy International Festival.
NECN has good piece on roof safety. There was a major roof collapse in Easton and Peadbody closed its schools on Thursday to deal with the issue of snow on school roofs. Click “read more” for the video.
At last night’s Selectmen’s meeting the board put the finishing touches on the RFP for the Governor Stoughton land. The board brought closure to one key outstanding issue, the length of the lease. The land may be purchased outright or leased. If leased, the selectmen agreed on an initial 20 year lease with an option to renew for another 10 years assuming the lessee is not in default and of good standing.

Dino, a five-month-old Beagle puppy, is recovering nicely at the MSPCA’s Angell Animal Medical Center from injuries he sustained when he was hit by a snowplow in Milton last week. (Read teh full story here.)
