Yesterday, the Boston Public Library held a ribbon cutting for the first phase of the library’s redesign. The children’s room, teen space, and nonfiction collections received a complete makeover. Milton resident Sindu Meier, who was the project manager for the architecural firm William Rawn Associates, which led the design effort, was on hand to celebrate the event. WBUR described the new space as “sleek, colorful, mod, with lots of sunlight streaming in.”

The Boston Globe has coverage of Ed Duffy’s resignation from the Milton Planning Board:
Longtime Milton Planning Board member Edward Duffy has resigned from the board, two months before his term was due to expire.
“I had enough of it,” Duffy said last week about his Feb. 12 surprise announcement. He said he was frustrated by the board’s failure to deal with what he perceived as potential traffic problems in East Milton from a proposed new restaurant on Adams Street. “It’s going to be wild,” he said. Saint Rock Haiti Foundation 2015 Gala
Over two hundred people came together at the Neighborhood Club in Quincy on Thursday, February 5, 2015 for the sixth annual reverse raffle and gala auction to raise money for the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation (SRHF). The event raised over $200,000 to expand primary care services at the Saint Rock Clinic and was sponsored by Saint Agatha Parish (Milton/Quincy) Global Outreach Ministry.
Socks and Sandwiches for the homeless!

This winter season can be tough for everyone, especially for those who don’t have a home to stay warm in. St. Mary of the Hills School wants to keep everyone safe and warm this winter season. As part of the “Service Day” for Catholic Schools week, SMH students decided they wanted to help out the homeless by donating socks and sandwiches to a local shelter.
