The Eire Society of Boston will hold its 78th Gold Medal Dinner on Saturday evening, 25 April at 6pm at the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston. This year, the Gold Medal Honoree is Dr. Catherine B. Shannon, Professor Emerita of History at Westfield State University.

Mtg notes: Selectmen 03.24.15 – Updates re: DPW, Animal Shelter; Condo article; and Ulin rink

The board received updates on a variety of topics. They included a DPW report, the new Animal Shelter, a general condo article, and the status of the Ulin rink.

First up was DPW Director Joe Lynch. His update included but was not limited to the following:

  • Chapter 90 funds (i.e. state funds earmarked for road and infrastructure improvements) will be used to repave and repair the following Milton streets:

The Watertown man who prompted a lockdown at Milton High School Wednesday afternoon allegedly arrived carrying a loaded gun, a magazine of ammunition, two bags of marijuana, a bottle of rum, and nearly $3,000, a prosecutor said Thursday. (Read the full story here.)

Timilty supports Chapter 90 Bond Bill

Today, in a full formal legislative session in the Massachusetts House of Representatives Chamber, State Representative Walter F. Timilty voted in the affirmative for a chapter 90 bond-bill. This legislative measure has created a fiscal mechanism for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to play a major role in municipal refurbishment of local transportation-infrastructure.

Meet the Electrician Who Kept a Milton Home From Exploding

It started out as a pretty normal Tuesday for Francois Charlotin Jr.

A 19-year-old Watertown man been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing next Tuesday (March 31, 2015) after he tried to enter the premises of Milton High School March 25, allegedly while carrying a loaded pistol, drugs and vodka.
