Timilty supports Chapter 90 Bond Bill

News from the office of Representative Timilty

Today, in a full formal legislative session in the Massachusetts House of Representatives Chamber, State Representative Walter F. Timilty voted in the affirmative for a chapter 90 bond-bill. This legislative measure has created a fiscal mechanism for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to play a major role in municipal refurbishment of local transportation-infrastructure. This initiative, which Representative Timilty has strongly supported, will provide two hundred million dollars for cities and towns to commence said refurbishment of transportation infrastructure in the Commonwealth.

Specifically, this chapter 90 bond-bill is comprised of funding for traffic control, drainage, lighting, resurfacing, road repair, and the outright construction of roads. This legislative measure, enjoying the strong support of Timilty and colleagues, will provide $622,978 to the Town of Milton. This share is based on the number of street miles, the populace, and the employment statistics in each community. In addition, this chapter 90 bond bill is augmented by a separate thirty million dollar “winter recovery” fund, released by the Baker Administration. This “winter recovery” fund is dedicated to the repair and elimination of holes that, literally, have developed in our roadways.

Commenting on the passage of this bond bill, Representative Timilty stated, “Our transportation infrastructure is the lifeblood of the communities that we, as State Representatives, enjoy the privilege of representing. Therefore, it is with great enthusiasm that I supported and voted for this chapter 90 bond-bill. It will, greatly, assist Milton in providing repairs and upgrades to our various mediums of transportation.”
