At 2 PM, Saturday, May 2nd, the Milton Public Library will host a one-hour concert with the Quincy Choral Society. A number of Milton residents will perform in a program called “Swingin’ into Spring!” This will feature the music of George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, and Jimmy Van Heusen.

Representative M. Joseph Manning, a favorite son, has passed

We are sorry to report that M. Joseph Manning has passed away. A Milton resident, Mr. Manning was a long serving member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He was a veteran, a town meeting member, a long serving member of the Board of Assessors and a champion of Milton who served his community in countless ways. He will be remembered at a funeral mass at St Agatha’s Saturday morning at 10:30. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave, MILTON, Friday 4-8 p.m. Our sincere condolescences go out to his family and his many, many friends.
Man gets 2.5 to 3.5 years for robbing Milton bank

Sheriff Belotti commends MPD for response to events

In a letter to Chief Wells Norfolk County Sheriff Michael Bellotti recently commended the offficers of the Milton Police Department for their response to two “high-risk situations(s).” The first concerned a bomb found in a Milton home and the second was the apprehension of an armed man who sought entrance to the high school.

Dropkick’s Casey to buy Lower Mills Pub

A team of buyers that includes Dropkick Murphy’s front-man Ken Casey plans to buy the Lower Mills Pub this month in a long-rumored deal that would bring new ownership— and likely, a kitchen and new look— to one of Dorchester Avenue’s last remaining old-school barrooms.

Beth Shalom/Blue Hills holds indoor yard sale
Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills will hold an Indoor Yard Sale at the former Temple Beth El property, 1001 Hancock Street, Quincy on Sunday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kitchen equipment and utensils, large quantities of dishes and glassware, furniture and other items will be available for sale.
