YOUR EDITORIAL board wrote that Milton and Dedham should “wait and listen” regarding aviation noise from the new runway plan (“Too much airplane noise? Towns should wait and listen,” March 23). There already is an aviation noise problem in Milton; why should citizens wait to say, “Enough,” until after Milton is bombarded with even more concentrated noise? (Read the full letter here.)

Brief Bit: More 40Bs??

At last night’s candidates’ forum, hosted by Milton Speaks, two candidates made reference to the possibility of a 40B proposal going in on Harland Street. It was also mentioned that the proposed 40B on Randolph Avenue that was initially turned away may be resubmitted.

Keohane challenging Fire Dept overtime pay

At the last meeting of the Board of Selectmen there was an item on the agenda calling for approval of a Reserve Fund Transfer (RFT) request from Chief Grant of the Fire Department for $32,000 to help cover the cost of overtime in salary and wages for the remainder of 2013. When the item came up for discussion Selectman Keohane said, “I have a big problem with this.”

Padera pumps up the volume for School Committee seat

Becky Padera pumped up the volume in her bid to be elected to the school Committee yesterday afternoon with a campaign kick off fundraiser hosted by the O’Keefe family. Ms. Padera was appointed to the school committee to serve out the term of Denis Keohane who was elected to the Board of Selectmen last April.

France and Flowers photo exhibit to Open in April

Milton photographer Christopher Link will show his photographs in our Wotiz Gallery during the month of April. The collection is called “France and Flowers” and it is an uncommon look at some commonplace landscapes in rural France and the floral life all around us.
