On the recommendation of Chief Richard Wells the Board of Selectmen by unanimous vote approved Lieutenant John King to replace Charlie Paris as Deputy Chief for Operations. Deputy Paris will be retiring this spring. In his comments to the board, Chief Wells said that is was “a personally sad moment . . . we went through the ranks together.”
I much prefer these scenes in December rather than March; but . . . we live in New England!

Fontbonne Academy will be holding its gala fundraiser, the 14th Annual Evening of Stars, on Saturday, March 23, at 6 p.m. at Lombardo’s in Randolph. Tickets are $115 per person and include dinner, silent and live auctions, and d.j. and dancing.
Due to Winter Storm Nemo, the annual Chocolate Auction at First Parish in Milton was unable to happen as planned on February 10th. But that does not mean you have missed your chance to enjoy unique treats and high energy bidding. The auction has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 17th.

My name is Becky Padera, and I am asking for your support in the upcoming Milton School Committee election. For the past year, I have been serving as an interim member on the School Committee, having been hand-picked out of a large pool of candidates to fill an open seat.
Last night the Wildcats beat Wellesley down in Brockton. The next stop is the MIAA Division 2 South Final to played against No. 1 Scituate at UMass Boston on Saturday at 4:00. You can find Ledger coverage of last night’s game here.
