The pedestrian fatally struck on Highland Street this past Saturday was Mary Harris of Milton. She was returning home from visiting her son at BID Milton Hospital. Ms. Harris was a dedicated volunteer at the First Congregational Church. Wicked Local Milton has a long article about this tragic accident which you can find here. Here is a photo of Ms. Harris with the Deacons and Caregiving team of First Congregational. Ms. Harris is rear left, smiling.
The Boston Herald had an article in yesterday’s paper about the tragedy involving Debra Davis, a Milton teenager who attended a country music concert. She had no ticket and took part along with hundreds of others in the party atmosphere in the parking lots outside the stadium. She and two friends were in a car accident. Debra Davis and the driver died. Another friend was seriously hurt. The article contends it was all avoidable. You can read it here.

This evening at approximately 4:55pm., a marked Milton patrol unit was leaving Milton Police Headquarters located at 40 Highland St. As he exited he observed several cars stopped on Highland St between the police driveway and the Highland St. secondary driveway to Beth Israel Deaconess medical Center/Milton.
