Let’s hear it for the good guys!

Can we please get a round of applause for the good guys? They show up at town hall in the evening and they meet and talk until 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 or later. They do this night after night, week after week. They don’t get paid and they rarely get thanked. They weren’t elected. They were just tapped on the shoulder and they answered a call.

Housebreaks are a recurring crime in Metro Boston. Yesterday afternoon, (2) MILTON RESIDENTS took our advice, which is if you see someone suspicious in your neighborhood, CALL MPD.. During the afternoon, (4) males from Hyde Park were in the Eliot St./Briarfield neighborhood. They attempted forcible entry at two homes, before breaking into a third house on Briarfield Rd.

Mtg Notes: School Committee 01.09.13 – Pierce Site Council impresses; technology use questioned; mum on security measures

At last Wednesday’s meeting of the School Committee their discussions and decisions included but were not limited to: listening to and commenting on a presentation from The Pierce Site Council, reeiving an update on the techbology plan and deferring a vote on it, congratulating the boys soccer and girls volleyball teams on their recent achievements and school security.

Rep. Walter Timilty Attends Gun Violence Prevention Briefing at the State House

Representative Walter Timilty (D–Milton) recently attended a briefing at the State House. The sole purpose of this briefing was to counter gun violence. The bi-partisan forum, which was attended by dozens of legislators and staff, was an attempt to lay out potential points of discussion for the implementation of new gun violence prevention measures for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Going Green – Wind Turbines in Gloucester

We recently linked to a Globe story on south shore communities dealing with wind turbines. Up north Glouecester has erected them and is bullish on them. The story includes an interview with Rich Kleiman who’s company was involved. Mr. Kleiman was the Chair of Milton’s Wind Energy Committee. Mr. Klieman stepped off the committee recently. Milton beats Walpole in Boys Basketball 62-52
