In the past year, two historic buildings have been torn down and there is a pending demolition order on what is believed to be the oldest commercial building in Milton. Meanwhile, a whale of a structure remains at the end of Eliot Street like an abandoned rusting tanker marooned on a sand bar. Buildings that members of the community want to preserve are smashed while the one building many want removed stands still.

The Milton Art Center is seeking art from all Milton’s youth to feature in the windows of local businesses throughout the month of March for a town-wide art show ART IN THE WINDOWS. The Center is collecting work from Milton’s art teachers as well as holding a banner contest to celebrate YOUTH ART MONTH.

The National Weather Service in Taunton has provided the following forecast update on the winter storm that is moving into the state and will last into Sunday afternoon. Please note that the snowfall totals have been increased in some areas of the central, eastern and southeastern parts of the state. Please also note the snowfall rates and strong winds may cause white-out and near-blizzard conditions.

The developers of the property at 17 Canton Avenue appeared before the board to for revised site plan approval for the structure they are building. The board had been told and agreed to having the original structure’s facade preserved but with the building expanded. That’s not what happened.
