JLike most communities, the Milton Schools spend a significant portion of their budget on meeting the needs of Special Needs students. There may be relief.
The Senate has passed an amendment co-sponsored by Senator Joyce that would increase the funding for the Special Education Circuit Breaker Extraordinary Relief Claims program by 10%, and funnel additional funds to local school districts. The program is designed to help offset special education costs.
Joyce noted, “Special education costs have a large impact on a school system’s budget. The circuit breaker reimbursement was designed to assist towns with extraordinary and unexpected costs, and I pleased that my colleagues supported this effort.”
