On Monday, April 5, 2010, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority’s will performing work in connection with its upcoming Southern Spine water main project. This work may cause discolored water in the areas of East Milton Square to the Expressway and Canton Avenue near Adams Street for up to three days.

If discolored water does occur, it is a result from a small amount of iron in local pipes. While it is still safe for drinking, cooking and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Therefore, residents near this location should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of work.
