We reported a couple of weeks ago that Chris Sullivan was stepping aside as Director of the Forbes Museum to focus on program development for the organization. The Museum issued a formal release today.
It reads:
Forbes House Museum Chairman, Mary Wendell and the Museum Board of Trustees wish to share some exciting news with the Milton community. This spring they are launching a search for a new Executive Director with an eye toward growth and development to lead the Museum into the next decade. Christine Sullivan, the current Director, has guided the FHM through a major transition and has created and maintained a stable environment. Chris joins the Board in its thought that the Museum is ready for new leadership. As she steps down as Director, Ms. Sullivan will be able to concentrate on the programs of the Museum, which is where her heart lies. “Change can be inspiring; I look forward to soon having the time to direct and devote my energy towards programming, a longtime passion of mine and an area of the Museum which requires much more attention,” says Sullivan. Searching for a new director is a daunting task, but one that the Board and Chris are excited about undertaking. The search committee of the Board has engaged Marilyn Hoffman of Museum Search and Reference to help in the process.
