A Celtic Crossing is returning in Milton!

Pauline Wells

Milton High School will be hosting the return of “A Celtic Crossing” featuring local singer Pauline Wells.

This year, Pauline Wells and a spirited cast of artists will be performing in a new production titled, “A Celtic Crossing, The Journey Continues.” on February 26th. She will again be joined on stage by the dynamic  Irish band Devri as well as the Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums. Together they will be performing a new collection of contemporary and Irish songs.

Ms. Wells, who has been a voice student at the prestigious Longy School of Music, has a long history of performance in support of charities engaged in the battle against cancer. These include The Jimmy Fund, The Leukemia Society, and Cops for Kids with Cancer. This performance will be no exception. Proceeds will go to  The Jimmy Fund, the oldest and largest supporter of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.  Wells’s past performances at Milton High have played to sold out crowds for three years running and her inspiring voice has caught the attention of many.

Devri, which got its start as a local pub band, has matured into an Irish group in high demand at a variety of events. They are led by Donegal natives Declan Houton of Braintree and Kevin Doherty of North Quincy.  Last year’s event at the high school proved so successful that Pauline and DEVRI were featured in a highly successful 9/11 memorial concert at Boston’s historic Wilbur Theatre.

And then there is the Boston Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums. If you are still a little sleepy on this beautiful Sunday morning, click on the following link for a morning wake up call: Gaelic Column medley (Note – if link doesn’t perform, you can go directly to their web site below.)

Lastly, there is the O’dwyer School of Irish Dance, a company of talented dancers from Hyde Park.
