Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Town Meeting Members,
Progress has been made on the “Vote No on Article 48*” effort. Milton Planning Board has decided to vote Article 48 down, to not refer it back to the Planning Board for study, and to not commit to coming back to Fall Town Meeting with a new Article.
At the upcoming Town Meeting session, the Warrant Committee is recommending a simple “Vote NO on Article 48.”
Now that the Planning Board, the Warrant Committee, and the concerned citizens’ collaborative (below) are in agreement, the latter will be supporting the Warrant Committee with its “Vote No on article 48” recommendation. Going forward, it will support, also, the Planning Board and its Condominium Working Group’s efforts to craft zoning articles to better address many concerns raised during this confusing, complicated process.
This is a unique example of neighborhoods coalescing together, pooling mindful resources, and working together strategically with one common theme: we care about our neighborhoods, our town, and our future.
Thanks to all the neighborhood signatories that joined in this effort, to the town board and committee members who listened, and with special acknowledgement of Denny Swenson and Win Swenson’s tireless advocacy.
Sincerely,
Tucker Smith
