MPD Notice: Be vigilant and take precautions

Notice from the Milton Police Dept’s Facebook page

ATTENTION RESIDENTS
Now that spring is here, the potential for criminal activity to spike should be on your radar. Currently things are relatively quiet, but with the continued surge in heroin use across Metro Boston and the entire South Shore, Milton could again became a target for residential house breaks. Weekdays are especially important. It is critical that you:
* Lock your doors and windows
* Pay attention for people and vehicles on your street that you do not recognize. This is especially important if you see a person enter the rear or side yard of a home. 99% of daytime breaks are made via rear windows and doors.
*Converse with your neighbors. Watching out for one another is so critical and has lead to some great arrests in the past.
* Always call 911 when you do suspect something is suspicious or possibly a crime in progress. Your partnership in the policing mission is so valuable for Milton.

In the past year we saw some great work done because of your help. We also saw both car and residential breaks drop in 2014. Let keep these criminals away. Many Thanks….
