FIVE to THRIVE! – Parenting session on dealing with stresses and building resilient children

Join Maria Trozzi for a presentation on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 7pm in the Pierce Middle School Auditorium.  Participate in an interactive and enlightening conversation about the new stresses of parenting our children today and evidence-based strategies for building resilience.  Parents of young children often worry that if they are not doing everything as parents, they are doing nothing.

Maria Trozzi’s refreshing and honest approach focuses on FIVE achievable strategies that help to produce competent and confident children, able to successfully navigate a complicated world:

  • Delaying gratification
  • Mindfulness
  • Grit
  • Managing feelings
  • Kindness/empathy building

Maria Trozzi is a nationally recognized speaker to audiences when a crisis challenges us (Columbine, Ground Zero, Hurricane Katrina) and to professional and parent audiences interested in strategies that promote the mastery of coping skills throughout the developmental life of their child.

Quotes from parents and educators about this talk….

“Maria Trozzi connected with our parents on what matters to them most: raising confident, capable, and happy kids. She spoke with candor and good humor, offering practical advice for how to help our children recover from inevitable disappointment and conflict.” — Laura Parent, Moses Brown

“More gratitude was expressed to me for having Maria Trozzi speak to our parents at Brick than any other speaker we have had. Helping children deal with stress is very challenging for parents and their inclination to protect their children often leads them to take the wrong approach. Parents were very comforted by Maria Trozzi’s lecture as they learned specifics on how to respond and can now approach these inevitable situations with confidence.  Her style is direct, engaging, and easy to follow. I highly recommend her.” — Lydia Spinelli, Ed.D., Director, The Brick Church School, NYC

This presentation is sponsored by the Milton Public Schools. All parents, guardians, grandparents, and community members are welcome to attend on April 16, 2015.
