On Thursday, April 9th, St. Mary of the Hills School inducted twenty new members to the National Junior Honor Society. These students in grades six through eight met the criteria and exemplified the qualities of scholarship, service, leadership, citizenship and character. The night began with greetings from Principal Mary Carberry, and Father Arthur Wright, Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish. The keynote speaker was distinguished alumnus, Imani George, a 2011 graduate of St. Mary’s. Imani is now a senior at Thayer Academy, where she has just been accepted to Yale and Brown University. Her speech was incredibly inspirational, as she spoke to the inductees about using their gifts of leadership to better their communities. Academic Advisor, Pamela Vasta, who advises the NJHS, organized the event and proudly read off the names of each student inducted in the ceremony. St. Mary of the Hills is proud to name the newly inducted students to the NJHS, of which could not be better role models for our school and community.
