Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Milton will hold its sixth annual spring Diabetes Fair on Saturday, April 18, from 10am until 1pm.
This year’s event will include information from a panel of exhibitors, blood pressure checks and free foot screenings provided by Podiatrist Joel Chariton, DPM. Guests will learn about diabetes from hospital endocrinologists William Cobb, MD, and Service Chief of Endocrinology Manfred Ernesti, MD. The impact of diabetes on your vascular health will be discussed by Vascular Surgeon Gregory Kechejian, MD. Dietitian Mercy Devadoss, MS, RD, CDE, will discuss strategies for diabetics to become more educated on their food choices and preparation.
“Education is the key for diabetic patients,” Dr. Ernesti said. “By teaching patients how to manage their diabetes, we can help them to reduce the risk of developing complications.”
The event is offered free of charge, and is open to the public. Complimentary, diabetic friendly lunch provided. Guests must pre-register by calling 617-313-1557.
