At its annual meeting, the Board of Directors of the Milton Library Foundation (“MLF”) today announced the election of new officers and board members who will begin their terms effective immediately. Each board member serves a three year term.
The MLF was created in 2002 to ensure the public library’s continued growth towards excellence. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting the facility, program spaces, and collections of the Library that serves the Milton, MA, community.
Elected to the executive board are: Aisha Saunders, president; Stacey Cornforth, president-elect; Tom Waye, past president; and Leslie Robinson Will, treasurer.
New board members elected are: Sarah Truog and Linda Weld. Re-elected to continue another three year term on the board are: Kathy Fagan and Suzanne Sigman.
Continuing to serve their terms, the remaining board of directors include: Anne Collins, Mary Gormley, Chris Kaster, Kathy Keyes, June Robinson, Olivia Moorehead-Slaughter, Herbert Voigt and Michael Zullas.
“Proudly there has been, historically, a remarkably high number of library card holders and users from students, parents, educators and children to seniors here in Milton,” said Aisha Saunders, the newly elected president. “I offer a special thanks to the combined efforts of the Milton Library Foundation, the private and public sector, plus Milton community.”
Saunders added, “The results of hard work have led to a stellar library facility with easy to access information both digital and in print, fun to attend programs which encourage interest, and that which employs a team who provides tangible support and resources to any person!”
“With full admiration I would like to give special thanks to fellow Milton Library Foundation Presidents whose leadership and tireless effort made the pulse of this organization possible. Thank you for your vote of confidence and I am looking forward to serving as your 14th president,” she concluded.
