We received two photos this past week end that shared the same subject. Malcolm Larsen and Tom Palmer both grabbed shots of ice fishermen on the Neponset near Milton Landing. Looks like Tom may have been fishing with them, great shot. Worth taking a visit to Milton Landing, amazing & beautiful all frozen. FYI. Fried smelts are tasty!
Thanks, Malcolm. The fish weren’t biting when I was there (low tide). The ice was about a foot thick. The guys were giving me some pointers about the soft spots (around buoys, etc). They said there were seals in the river but they would never come so far upstream under the ice ‘cos they needed breathing holes.
