Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park is proud to present Celtic music trio Curragh’s Fancy in concert on Saturday, March 21 at 8:00 pm. This Boston-based trio has performed at concerts, festivals, pubs and coffeehouses from Maine to Florida.
Curragh’s Fancy’s music is heavily influenced by many of the best-known Irish bands, including the Clancy Brothers, The Irish Rovers, the Dubliners, the Wolfe Tones, and Planxty, to name as few. Folk influences include the Kingston Trio, Bob Dylan, John Prine, Stan Rogers, and The Old Crow Medicine Show. Trio members Dave Leahy, Michael Kelley, and Bob Fowkes play several instruments: guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin, bouzouki, and tin whistle, and all three share in the singing. They perform a lively mix of old pub favorites and newer material.
Curragh’s Fancy is thrilled to bring this encore performance to Riverside, where they have staged concerts during the past two years. Their memorable and energetic interpretation of Celtic music is sure to please local audience members of all ages.
The concert will take place Saturday, March 21 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 – $15 and can be purchased in advance by visiting www.rtwboston.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111. Riverside Theatre Works is located at 45 Fairmount Ave., Hyde Park, MA.
