Senator Brian A. Joyce (D-Milton) encouraged residents to stop by Stoughton High School, 232 Pearl St. in Stoughton on Thursday, February 19th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a hiring fair Amazon is holding for their new fulfillment center in Stoughton. Amazon will be making job offers for seasonal employment on the spot for qualified applicants. Some of the seasonal positions may lead to full-time, permanent jobs. Interested residents will need proof of education and a photo ID at the very least.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for local residents looking for work,” said Joyce.
Stoughton’s elected and appointed town officials worked with Amazon and welcomed the opportunity to attract the Internet retailer to town, and Senator Joyce and Representatives Lou Kafka and Bill Galvin supported a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) exemption for the Internet retailer. The TIF offers a reduced personal property tax rate for the first 10 years of the facility’s operations.
