The Boston Business Journal has an online tool for researching 2015 tax rates for communities in the Commonwealth. Milton’s average property tax bill is $7880. According to the data (from Dept of Revenue) this represents a 1.8% average increase over 2014 and a 67.2% increase since 2003.

Separately , the Boston Globe recently published a ranking of south shore communites based on property taxes based on the same data from the Dept of Revenue. Milton is ranked 7th. Cohasset i at the top. You can find the Globe ranking here.
Conservatively speaking, the Milton Woman’s Club sale will bring in
$31, 529 per year when all 4 houses are sold. I think that this is a great gift to the Town of Milton to be used in the budgets of Town Departments. Maybe the members could advocate for the budgets/line items that they would support! What a nice “gift” to the Town!
I am not sure how this is a gift as these new homeowners will use town services ( children in the schools, plowing, fire and police) like we all do.
