Mary A. (Joyce) Byron, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in the company of her loving family on Thursday, December 25, 2014. Most recently a 50 year resident of Milton, she was born in Boston, grew up in Dorchester, and graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls.
A former employee of the John F. Kennedy Library, Mrs. Byron was also a longtime active parishioner of St. Agatha Church. The beloved wife of the late James Raymond Byron, she is survived by her devoted children; Robert and his wife Mary of Milton, James W. and his dear friend Sondra Stearns of Plymouth, Janet M. Chase and her husband Jeffrey of Norwell, Paul F. and his wife Sheila and Patricia A. Ambrose and her husband John, all of Milton and Jeanne M. OConnell and her husband Paul of Norwell, her brother Vincent Joyce of Braintree and 17 cherished grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Catherine Cusick, Thomas, Robert and Francis Joyce. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Monday at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Sunday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
