Draft of Master Plan findings and recommendations presented; public input ongoing

Approximately 50 people attended the Master Plan forum held at Milton High School on 9/29 Daphne Politis of Community Circle, the principal consultant retained by the town to develop a Master Plan, presented the findings, recommendations and strategies contained in a draft of the plan. The plan has been over a year in development. (The presentation is provided below.)

The plan identifies 4 key highlights:

  • Create Mixed Use Districts
  • Increase range of housing types
  • Promote walking & biking
  • Preserve Town Character

After making the presentation the public was invited to post comments to the seven goals that have been identified and target those goals and strategies that were a priority for them.

  1. Preserve Milton’s character
  2. Promote a healthy Milton
  3. Preserve housing and neighborhoods & provide a range of housing types
  4. Promote economic development in vibrant mixed-use centers
  5. Improve transportation and circulation
  6. Provide high quality services and infrastructure
  7. Strengthen Milton’s capacity to plan
