I was reading the New York Times online yesterday and stumbled on an opinion piece, “A Marriage to Remember“, by Banker White, a documentary filmmaker. Mr. White’s mother has Alzheimer’s and he discusses his father’s support of her and writes:
The experience of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s can be incredibly isolating, at a time when you need support the most. We are grateful that this process has helped us to come together as a family and as a community to celebrate that most precious gift of all: our memories.
Mr. White has produced a documentary about his mom and his family and their experience with Alzheimer’s. I watched the trailer for the film. It appears to be a very brave film. Later in the day, browsing my Facebook feed, I learned thad Ms. White was a counselor at Milton Academy.
Following is the trailer for the film, The Genius of Marian, which will air on PBS September 8th (learn more about the film and broadcast times here.).
