Timilty advocates for Trailside Museum

Representative Walter F. Timilty, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, announced that on July twenty- ninth the House of Representatives voted to override the gubernatorial veto of Line Item2810-0100, of the “DCR Seasonals” budget.

Most important to Representative Timilty, this included a $500,000 earmark for the Trailside Museum and the Chickatawbut Center. Advocating for the issue, Timilty, along with others, successfully convinced the membership that the gubernatorial veto that eliminated monies for the Trailside Museum and Chickatawbut Center and other items should be overridden by the required two thirds vote. The vote to override the veto was successful.

Commenting on the vote, Timilty said, “As someone who visited the Trailside Museum with my mother as a child, it is of great importance to me, that the Commonwealth, provide the Trailside Museum with the resources that it needs to educate future generations.”
