Senator Brian A. Joyce recently met with Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) officials to advocate for the rebuilding of Granite Avenue from East Milton Square to the Boston line. The highway, described to Joyce by one neighbor as akin to a runway strip, would be transformed into a scenic boulevard under the plan advanced by Joyce.
In the Transportation Bond Bill passed earlier this year, Sen. Joyce sponsored an amendment that authorizes the state to spend $10 million for design, road reconstruction, aesthetic improvements, signalization, sidewalks and safety improvements on Granite Avenue from the East Milton Square to the Boston line. Since the spending authorization became law, Joyce has been advocating on behalf of the town for the administration to begin the transformation of the roadway.
“The proposed beautification and safety enhancements on Granite Avenue would benefit the adjacent neighborhoods and help continue to make Milton an attractive place to live and work,” said Sen. Joyce.
